In Age of Empires you have the workshop but you have to deinstall them by your own, if you don't want them any longer. You can still run the blacklisted mods, but you will not progress in your level and not get any achievements.Īnd the last point of "Mod enabeling" it is not really necessary for me personally. So they say, what is a good aditional mod, which brings a lot of fun, but doesn't break the game (like a cheat or trainer would do) and only allow those in the whitelist. I know, that the devs do have here a black and a whitelist system. That's why I did buyed it!Īlso a nice reference to killing floor. However me and my friends have good pcs and also want to use this power. Last time I had MP enabled, it wasn't that big of a scene so I don't really think its worth the devs investing into this in the grand scheme of things. Would require a change in how mod files work however, so they aren't auto enabled simply by existance but rather via a selection box within the game. Could work in a similar way to Killing Floor, can see what mods the server (in this case, the host), runs, and if they stick in the lobby and decide they wish to play still, it transfers said mod files over. Mods however, would be nice addition to the MP scene. I've yet to get a MP game to go over 800 or so players on each side due to lag, however they run a laptop, so I'll put it down to that until I play someone who actually has a decent pc. In my opinion a Game, that allow/support mods heavily do have pretty good succes. And as a experienced player I do reach the pop cap pretty quick. I just play with friends with no end set. There are more I am pretty sure, but please to something about it.
